GW8 STATS SUMMARY

1.73 - Everton

Fulham in the top 5 for the second week in a row.

Newcastle beginning to perform better in attack.

Shots conceded

20 - Nottingham Forest

West Ham and Wolves defences continue to struggle.

Brighton and Forest keeping clean sheets despite conceded plenty of shots.

DCL showing plenty of promise again in GW8 but can’t find the back of the net.

Buonanotte is a really nice cheap option at £5.0m.

Savio is a fantastic option at £6.5m given the injury struggles at City.

Maddison in the top 5 despite only playing 45 minutes.

Garnacho looks a nice option with United’s upcoming fixtures.

Eze and DCL taking plenty of shots but not getting their goal.

Isak could be an option again with Newcastle’s upcoming fixtures.

WHAT TO DO WITH SAKA?

I think Saka is a sell now given the uncertainty around his availability and Arsenal’s fixtures.

If you still have your wildcard or lots of free transfers then I’d go to Son, if not then I’d go to Palmer.

WHAT TO DO WITH SALIBA?

Given that it’s only a one match ban, I think it’s viable to hold Saliba as GW9 is the worst fixture for Arsenal.

However, the short term fixtures aren’t great so I would probably sell if I owned him.

If you want a premium defender then I think Porro is the best option.

If you want a cheaper defender then I’d go for Aït-Nouri, Lewis or Digne.

EZE/DIAZ REPLACEMENTS

I don’t think Eze and Diaz are immediate sells.

Eze’s underlying numbers are good and he has good fixtures.

Diaz looks set to start this weekend but isn’t great for xMins long term.

However, if you do want to move one of these on then my favourite replacements from each price point are below 👇

TRIPLE CAPTAIN HAALAND?

I will summarise it below.

Per my captaincy model, Haaland’s fixture this week is equally as good as the GW2 fixture where many used the triple captain chip.

Therefore, if you want to use the chip in a single gameweek then this is likely as good an opportunity as you will get.

However, I won’t be using the chip this week for two reasons.

  1. I still think there’s a good chance that we will be able to use it in a double gameweek.

  2. I would rather use it towards the end of the season when I know what sort of risk I want to take with the chip.

I will likely roll my transfer with a view to potentially selling Haaland next week.
